Hillary to succeed?

CNN reported that several top Democratic leaders have suggested that Hillary abandons her bid for the presidency if she is defeated in either Ohio or Texas on Tuesday. They, all Obama supporters, believe that if she were to stay in until the convention in August it would only hurt Obama's chance of defeating McCain in the general. While I do agree that the sooner the better, in terms of selecting a nominee, Clinton should remain in until it is clear that Obama will win the primary. The margins between Obama and Clinton are so close that one couldn't expect Clinton, after countless months of campaigning and millions of dollars spent, to drop out. If I were in Clinton's shoes, God forbid, I would feel as if I was letting my supporters down by not fighting until the bitter end. I have confidence that a democrat can and WILL win in November, but we should ensure that it is candidate of the peoples choice!
This notion of peoples choice bring something to my mind. As we all know, the super delegate system in the democratic party was established for good reasons, to break ties within the party. BUT I also feel that a more democratic approach should be taken to the system. If democracy is what we preach, we should strive to have the most democratic system possible. We, the common constituents of the nation, should hold OUR super delegates responsible for representing our voice in the situation of a tie breaker. Many super delegates have suggested in the media that they feel they should vote "with their heart", in other words, undermine the opinions of those whom the represent. I would be furious to learn that my Democratic leaders in the state of NC didn't vote with the people of their organization or state.
So Hillary, I don't blame you for sticking this one out, I would do the same. But please take into consideration the urgency of this election. We must get a Democrat elected President, so please don't get in the way. Like the fat kid said to Mclovin in the comedy Superbad "this whole this is bigger than you".

Intentions

As I sit to write my first blog, I feel I should first introduce myself and my intentions. I am a student at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC studying both Political Science and Economics. I wish I could say that I would be non-partisan regarding my blogging, but then it wouldn't be blogging now would it. I am attracted to this idea of blogging because it enables me to express my views of the crazy political landscape of America, so please note: I am admitting to my Parisian views, but I'll let you decide if you should agree. My political opinions and ideologies have been blossoming over the past several years, and I need an outlet to express them. I hope that you enjoy reading my views, but please don't hesitate to express yours! I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback, regardless of our differences.
